Our Team of Naturopaths are very experienced at helping you with any level of detox you require. The type of detoxification you require simply depends on the level of toxins in your system. Detox programs usually involve an eating plan that requires you to cut out all processed foods for a period of time. This is combined with herbs or supplements to help your body remove the toxins. The naturopaths will often use the VLA machine from metagenics to monitor you during the process.

There are millions of different detox programs on the market, some which work well and some which are down right dangerous. The key to a successful detox, is knowledge, planning and understanding what you are trying to achieve. We do NOT recommend undertaking a detox program without the help of a health professional adept in detox and weight loss.

- The 2 Week Express Detox Program
The MOST popular program is the 2 week Express Detox Program, which is a great way to get you back on track and feeling healthy again! The detox involves following a healthy eating plan and taking at least two supplements to assist with the detoxification process. Ideally you want to make changes that are sustainable and enjoyable so that it is easy to continue some of them well past the 2 week mark!

Any disease can be made worse by toxicity; however, some of the most common signs and symptoms of too much toxicity in the body include:
- Recurrent headaches
- Skin irritation / rashes e.g. psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema

Types of Toxins
Toxins come in two broad categories, environmental (external) and endogenous (made internally in your body).
Supporting Reccommendations
1. Drink at least 1L of PLAIN water per 25kg of body weight to assist body to excrete toxins and hydrate
cells. You may also try adding lemon to decrease acidity.
2. The biggest things to focus on are NO sugar, alcohol, caffeine or white bread/pasta/rice/flour
3. DAIRY: Cow & dairy products are to be avoided during the detoxification program. Dairy alternatives may be
used, however, limit these to a maximum of one serve per day. Goats products are closest to human protein
structure and therefore easiest to absorb. Could also use rice milk.
4. PROTEIN: Choose lean protein sources, organic or free range where possible, and try to make one serve a
day a vegetarian protein option. Include a serve of protein at breakfast, lunch and dinner each day.
5. FRUIT: Fruits are rich in essential enzymes and nutrients for detoxification support. Limit fruit intake to three
serves daily due to the high sugar content. Try to eat organic fruit as frequently as possible.
6. VEGETABLES: are a crucial component of any detoxification program. They are alkalising and a wonderful
source of fibre, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients; all of which support detoxification on all
levels. Have as many serves a day of vegetables and salad greens as you wish. At least a minimum of four
cups of salad and three cups of vegetables should be consumed daily on the detoxification program. Do not
microwave or fry vegetables. Steaming lightly is best. Try to eat organic produce as frequently as possible.
7. GRAINS: It is important to limit grains. They contribute strongly to an acidic body and are generally low
in required nutrients for detoxification. Limit to 1 serve per day (30g)
8. TREATMENT: Lymphatic drainage massage, acupuncture, kinesiology, ear candling, nutritional counselling
and advice will all help you achieve your goals short and long term.
