Chiropractors get great results helping people who suffer from neck pain whether it is acute or long standing. The most important thing is to work out what is causing the pain. The pain can come from many sources including the facet joints of the neck, the muscles of the neck or shoulders, the nerves, the discs, the throat or the jaw.

These areas can be causing or referring pain because of lifestyle factors including poor posture, poor movement patterns or motor control, damage from micro or macro trauma, whiplash or even infection. Chiropractors use very thorough orthopeadic, biomechanical, neurological and x-ray examination to help correctly determine the cause of the problem.

Once a chiropractor at Health Space has examined a patient and worked out the cause of the problem they will use a combination of techniques which may include muscle release work, dry needling, heat, stretching and spinal mobilisations and adjustments to not only relieve the pain but get to the cause of the problems and stop it coming back over and over again.

 

Massage Therapy

With long periods of sitting at the computer and desk or sleeping in a poor position, this can often lead tightness and soreness in muscles which can also refer pain to other areas like the shoulder, arm and hand.

Remedial Massage works to release tight neck and shoulder muscles like upper traps, levator scapula, scalenes and sternocleidomastoid (SCM) with various techniques such as active movement and passive Trigger Point Therapy, mild stretching and dry needling.
